Who knew? Two Austrian eateries in LA within six months, and both on the same Beverly Hills block? Construction is wrapping up for My Vienna, Little Santa Monica's new European-style gelateria and coffeehouse. Specifically, the unnamed owner hails from Austria (hence the cafe's name) and seeks to recreate Austrian coffeehouse culture here in LA. Full table service, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, in addition to coffee, pastries, and gelato.
Don't forget that Bernhard Mairinger recently opened the critically praised BierBeisl, LA's first Austrian restaurant, a few blocks down. Reps for My Vienna had originally hoped to launch in early June, but construction is just wrapping up now, so dessert after a BierBeisl dinner is still likely a couple weeks out. ·My Vienna Bakery, Coffee, Gelato Soft Opening June 3 [~ELA~]
